I Wish...

... I could go to this. Doesn't that look so fun?! But, I will be happy to be in St. Louis that weekend visiting family and friends!

I am so glad Martha Stewart didn't accept the limitations placed on women when she was growing up. The prejudice was awful then. Think of what a loss it would have been had Martha believed the prejudice imposed on women of her generation, and allowed herself to be defined and hemmed in by it. Ladies, don't accept the complementarian argument that women can't do this or that "because the Bible says so". It's a lie of Satan. Study all the things women did in Bible days and you will find that God anointed them to be prophets, judges, military leaders, deaconnesses, apostles, ministers, and businesswomen, in addition to being wives and mothers. The prejudice was 100 times worse than it is today. That makes their ministries all the more remarkable. Teach your children to stand against prejudice, and to stand for love as demonstrated by our Lord and Savior Jesus the Anointed One.

Kathryn - While it is true that God used women in the Bible for such purposes as judge and prophetess - there can be no doubt of His true desire for women. He speaks time after time of women and the home, the children, and especially their husbands. The home is the greatest sphere of influence for a woman and that is where God most desires for her to be. I do not believe He would call a woman to serve Him in a way that would take her away from her family and home. While I do admire the creativity, love of home and all the ideas that Martha shares with us each day, these things are no comparison with the joy of being a woman in God's will.
